Bad Faith

Michael Mueller There is a bleakness here, but a good deal of wistful beauty, too. The production is excellent, and manages to evoke a sense of space and emptiness at some points, whilst also creating a layered, almost-cushioning feel as well.

A softly hued voice works really well with such detailed instrumentation; neither overwhelms the other.

The more one listens, the more variation and detail one hears; from the static in a sample to the almost click-like quality of a compressed guitar riff.

Fine stuff. Favorite track: People Music.

Jerick Domingo Excellent from start to finish. I love the bleak and richly-textured production combined with violin and haunting vocals throughout. It's hard to pick a favourite track as each one is a unique highlight.
Favorite track: From Afar.

  • Bad Faith LP 12"
    Record/Vinyl + Digital Album

Prolific Melbourne multi-instrumentalist/producer LUCIANBLOMKAMP is thrilled to share his new album 'Bad Faith', which was released today via Good Manners Records (available digitally and on vinyl).

On the album and the concept behind his art, 22-year old LUCIANBLOMKAMP explains 'Bad Faith is a contradiction. It is about everything and nothing. In some ways, its lack of meaning becomes its own deeper meaning. Similarly this reflects in the tracklist and my choice to have half the album instrumental and half the album featuring vocals'.

'Bad Faith' is the successor to the producer's exploratory 2014 debut 'Post-Nature'. The record put him squarely in people’s sights, along with its lead single 'Help Me Out', which was nominated for an AIR Award for 'Best Dance, Electronica or Club Single' and added to rotation on Triple J, FBi and RRR.

Lucian went on to win FBi Radio’s Northern Lights competition, earning him a place on the lineup of the Iceland Airwaves Festival alongside Caribou and The Flaming Lips. He’s played at (among others) Splendour in the Grass, BIGSOUND, Melbourne Music Week, as well as supporting the likes of xxyyxx and Pantha Du Prince, and his follow-up promises to usher in even bigger things.

LUCIANBLOMKAMP's new album Bad Faith out now via Good Manners Records.
