After already teasing us with two singles of unique quality, today LUCIANBLOMKAMP releases the first movement of his new album Sick of What I Don’t Understand, which will be released in three parts over the coming year, via Good Manners Records.
LUCIANBLOMKAMP’s third album Sick of What I Don’t Understand is themed around difficult transformations and self-realisation. Almost a commentary on itself, it's a documenting of the processes Lucian went through to break out of his previous accomplished but limited incarnation to new levels of ambition and confidence he now shows as a musician.
When speaking about Part 1, Lucian explains: “What I get out of music and what I aim to get out of making music has varied a lot over the years. When I was younger I had a much more black and white idea of the music I wanted to make and what purpose I wanted it to serve. While I was without a doubt living through the emotions heard on previous releases there was a lot I wasn’t expressing artistically. I feel everyone creates art based on their surroundings and circumstances, so with that in mind there was a lot of regret knowing that there was so much creatively left unsaid. Although over time and through particular collaborations, I’ve begun to feel far more comfortable expressing other sides of myself. The 3 parts to ‘Sick of What I Don’t Understand’ essentially document this change over time. Part 1 is the beginning of this transition.”

Don't have a favourite track, too many to choose from. I hear a connection to all things beyond the surface of all things. I sense a thought beyond the reach of thought. And yet I feel it urging me forward into a state after state has ceased to be present. Whatever that is... Ray James

LORN's music is as fascinating as it is disturbing and brutal. The sound is purely evil. Listening to this on a (very) good stereo or good headphones IS an experience. LORN's crispy 24bit flacs just add "the" extra little punch. Love it, great artist. Marcs

Lorn is the artist that I would insist on producing a soundtrack for any film I ever made. Soundscapes of delight with some of the most amazing percussion I have heard. Love you x. zachariahbell
